About Us

Early Math Matters was founded in 2012 by Mr Norman Tien, a PSLE Math Trainer with over 20 years of teaching experience. It was originally known as ‘Neuromath Junior’, and operated as a subsidiary of its well-established sister company, Neuromath Academy. In 2016, we rebranded ourselves into ‘Early Math Matters’.

We are a premier Mathematics & Cognitive development enrichment centre that provides quality math enrichment programmes for preschool children aged 3-6 years old. Through purposeful play and our renowned EMM approach, we help learners build a strong foundation for problem solving at an early age. We believe preschool children can build strong mathematical foundations and grasp highly complex mathematical concepts if introduced through purposeful play. By strengthening your child’s math fundamentals in a fun way at the very beginning, we instil a passion and love for math that will stay with them for life.

NeuroMath

Neuromath, the sister company of Early Math Matters, was founded by Mr Norman Tien in 2002. His passionate drive to help every child excel acts as a catalyst, inspiring his team to deliver quality teaching and help learners realise their full potential. Supported by a dynamic team, Neuromath has delivered the learning solutions to thousands of students from pre-primary to secondary levels.

Bite-sized Learning

We engage in meaningful storytelling to help your child build an emotional connection with math. By connecting their own experiences and interests with the math concepts introduced through storytelling, they are able to foster a deeper understanding of the concepts.

Our lesson materials are delivered in small, bite-sized sections to allow for maximum retention for your child to fully digest the concepts.

Immersive lessons

Our purposeful play lessons are designed to engage all of your child’s 5 senses through fun, interactive and experiential manipulative. We create multiple touch points in our lessons to cater to different learning styles of children, allowing them to fully experience math concepts in a fun and engaging manner.

Our lesson materials are specially designed to bridge the gap between experiential learning and complex math problems. By engaging your child’s 5 senses during the experiential learning phase, we help to solidify his foundation and understanding of the math concepts taught.

We are the first in Singapore to use immersive virtual reality (VR) technology in our lessons. By learning in an immersive and enjoyable manner, your child will build a strong emotional connection with math, and can better understand the concepts being taught.

Concrete

In the first phase, we make use of concrete materials to introduce a new math concept to your child. Through this, our teachers can clearly see your child’s thought processes, and will be better equipped to guide your child more effectively.
